To me there is nothing more beautiful, attractive, captivating than total authenticity.
“Satya” is the Sanskrit word for Truth. It is the second of the five yamas described in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, guiding us to think, speak, and act with integrity.
It’s more than just not telling lies, it is a complete honesty in every moment. That’s challenging. A lot of the dishonesty we have is with ourselves. It’s not intentional or malicious, but rather the result of conditioning and the absence of awareness.
But the more honest we become, the more we practice Satya, the more truthful we are in every moment, the more we come into our authentic selves. That is when we are most aligned, most beautiful, most radiant. Our truth may be fluid and evolving, so it’s not like okay, I’ve achieved it, work’s done. It is a constant practice of checking in.
“If we are not fully ourselves, truly in the present moment, we miss everything.” — Thich Nhat Hanh
Living truthfully is my highest goal. It means I put a lot of faith in Truth. I value authenticity and aspire to live truthfully to reach my greatest potential and fulfill my purpose in this lifetime. I trust that all else will fall into place if I put Truth first.
