Today we celebrate Valentine’s Day, a holiday centered around love. Want to know the secret to finding true love?
“Everything worth having costs something, and the price of true love is self-knowledge.” — Daphne Rose Kingma
True love is experienced through a thorough knowing and deep understanding of oneself. Our meditation and yoga practices are means of knowing, remembering, uncovering our truest, most essential self and the process by which we fall deeply in love.
“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself you have built against it.” — Rumi
Unearth love. It’s right here — always has been and always will be. We came from Love, we are Love, our natural state is Love. Sometimes we’ve just got to brush off (and other times maybe shovel off) the crap on top of it.
Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly, and then breathe into those spaces. Awaken and nourish every cell of your physical body with breath. What better way to express and experience love than to nourish and be nourished? As you inhale, breathe in love for yourself. As you exhale, breathe out love for everyone and everything around you. Let all else fall away.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
